Legacy Books was established in 1996 to sell books on Community Development. It has since diversified to sell other categories of books including World Reports, Business Management, and books on African History, Politics, and Culture. Legacy Books represents and stocks publications from renowned local and international organisations. It is arguably the leading Development and Professional bookshop in Kenya and possibly East Africa. It has three branches: one at Yaya Centre (flagship store), another at The Mall in Westlands, and the third at the Kenya International Conference Centre.

LEGACY BOOKS PRESS
The subsidiary solicits and publishes independent titles on Development and undertakes reprints of essential publications by key development publishers to make these materials accessible, available, and affordable to the country and region. It also provides scribing services to organisations and corporations that need assistance in the publication of booklets, brochures, newsletters, manuals, and the like.
THE LEGACY BOOKS RESTAURANT
Located at the flagship store at Yaya Centre, the restaurant boasts of great cups of coffee and homemade pastries. It also serves all-day breakfast and mouth-watering dishes for lunch and dinner including grilled fillet of Nile perch pilipili, grilled fillet steak, chicken tikka, etc. The restaurant has a wine bar for unwinding after a stressful day at work or for striking a business deal.
THE LEGACY BOOKS CYBER CAFE
The cyber cafe is a place for Internet surfing and checking email at Yaya Centre. It also has facilities for scanning documents, printing, photocopying, and fax services.
